It was just like kind of typical drug addict behavior.

And my dad took me to Florida a few months after I got home from the hospital and he forgot to bring them with.

I wasn't happy with him.

And obviously it's not like you can't just like call Walgreens and we need more fentanyl patches.

So that was one of like the first times I realized like the effect that drug had on my mental state.

Cause when I didn't have the patches for like, it took a day or two to get them.

And I was just in bed, like terrible pain, but not, not even really like pain, more just like discomfort, like nausea.

And I think it was my little brother pointed out like,

We need to get you more fentanyl patches.

And I was like, yeah, dad's working on it, but that's not what this... It's just a side effect of whatever my injury is.

The fentanyl patches aren't going to fix this.

And that was just me being naive as to what the whole opiate epidemic really was.

fentanyl a lot coming off of it was a very difficult experience and actually it was like the week of my 21st birthday when i was still at home but well going back to the in the icu my mental state there i really tried very hard to not think about the future

it was just very painful to try to do that with so much uncertainty, you know, growing up, you know, all the way up to the point of my injury, I never really had to think much about the future.

It was all kind of just like laid out for me.

And I grew up in, you know, uh, upper middle class household, like,

got good grades, went to a good college.

It was all like, okay, you go to college, get a good degree, you get a good job, you meet a wife, you have kids, house, picket fence.

You just never really thought much about it.
