I don't know how true this is because I don't even see how it's possible.
But I bit Lindsay's leg.
Lindsay was my brother's girlfriend and she thought I was like flirting or I don't know, like playing around and then realized I wasn't responding at all.
I was face down in the water.
She flipped me over, like brought me above and, you know, screamed for help.
I think so.
There might have been one or two others, but there were only a handful of us down there at the time, so she screamed for help.
Her brothers, her older brothers, ran down.
They pulled me out, put me on the dock.
Obviously, everyone else came running down, and I was just laying flat, kind of thinking I was in shock, and that was the reason I couldn't move.
it quickly became apparent like it was a much bigger issue than that just based on the reactions of everyone around me you know it's like obviously like call 911 like get lindsay's parents like you know my brother came down i actually i don't have like a specific memory of him being there
which obviously I know he was there.
He's the one who had to make the phone call to my parents who were in Chicago, you know, about an hour and a half away at close to two o'clock in the morning, which it took me longer than it should have to tell him.
But that was the hardest job anyone had that night.
You know, I was kind of just there like trying to survive, but there's nothing for me to do other than that.
I can't imagine having to have had made that call
being on the receiving end of like, especially my dad, like I can't imagine what his reaction was over the phone.
That was, would have just, that would have broke me.
And, you know, I'm sure it's had a lasting effect on him.
And it wasn't until like maybe a year ago, I finally told him that.
