It's something that I hope we can figure out a way to maintain because it's what saved me and I'm sure it's going to save a lot more people.

yeah no i've been watching your show for a while is it's like one of those things where you know you go through like your day-to-day life and like yeah like that pays the bills but this is like what's like truly like meaningful or like has like value is like i mentioned i was at a work conference in austin that i left early and i had no problem just saying like
okay like keith you're on your own i'm leaving early to go do this is that like that's what matters like work will be work like that'll be there at the end of the day you'll lose clients gain client like this is like and i wish i could do a better job at like doing like outreach like other spinal cord injury patients because i did it a little bit like when
maybe I was a little too fresh off of it and it just was very difficult to like relive that experience like walking into a hospital room and see someone like maybe even in worse condition than I was and try to tell them it's going to be okay because at the end of the day I just got super lucky like I should be dead like I definitely shouldn't be walking or like have been able to like
fly here on my own and drive here on my own.
But all I ever wanted was just independence.
And I have that.
And it's like, I always say like, if I can get up and like, and get my own glass of water, that's all I need.
Cause like having to rely on other people to do simple things is, it's, it's very like demoralizing experience.
One of my favorite sayings is, I like to say I made it up on my own, but I probably heard it somewhere, is like, everything that's meant to happen will happen, and everything that will happen is meant to happen.
It's just, it's not to say, like, everything's predetermined, like, we decide our own fate, but it's kind of like,
there's a reason behind everything and you may not realize it now, but like that bad thing that happened to you, like this morning could be like something like lead to something amazing down the line.
And that's my whole view with like this injury is like, yeah, that was a shitty situation and a tragic moment for myself and a lot of other people.
But I think like, like I said, I wouldn't, I wouldn't go back in time and change it.
