Tough love is really valuable.

I had some people in my life early who really were tough on me.

I think that was really important.

And then the last thing I'll say is my fiance, Emily, when we met, I was working at Thrive.

We were living in New York.

I worked a ton, but life was pretty fun.

Over the last two years, life has been a lot harder.

I kind of approached her.

I was like, hey, this battery thing I've been talking about, I'm going to go for it.

And we got to move to Austin.

You've been to Austin twice and your whole family's in New York and you work in New York at Google and you're going to have to leave your job.

And there was never a minute of, well, what about me and my life?

And it was just immediate support from day one.

Of course, we're a team.

We're going to do this together.

And by the way, this is before you're engaged.

There was no commitment from my end.

And she's just been 110% supportive every step of the way.

And the last two years have been super hard.
