And so that was a great place for me personally.
Maybe I'll fast forward like all the way to coming to a bridge.

You know, so, okay, so I told you about that MuckMed, which had now graduated and become like a publishing conference, machine learning for healthcare.
So I was there,
And I was flying to Pittsburgh to, I just, I was about three and a half years into PhD and I had just been offered a faculty position to be a professor at Carnegie Mellon.
So I'm like flying there to, like, I guess after they offer you a position, they fly you out to go on like a house hunting trip.
It's like to figure out where you're going to live.
And I happened to be sitting on this flight from Boston to Pittsburgh.
And I guess like I was younger and a little bit more, um,
you know, I don't know, less grizzled.
I may be now on a plane.
I just put my headphones on and mind my own business.
But I used to make a little bit of a sport of like chatting up the person next to me.
And I got to know this guy sitting next to me and it turned out he was the chief of medicine at UPMC.
Fortuitous.
Yeah, fortuitous, right?
Like there were some moments in the history of this company and this career for me that I believe in free will, but I also believe in fate.
And, and so he was this guy and I was, you know, despite being like a very important person, what was this down to chat?
And, you know, I think at that moment in 2017, now deep learning was really, especially in computer vision, becoming mature.
