The frequency with which young people can access that, certainly in our audience at least, I need to acknowledge that this is just a subset of our audience, not representative of the whole of Australia, there is still an issue accessing bulk billing doctors. matched

So earlier this year, we had Health Minister Mark Butler say, we're seeing research now that more and more people are choosing not to see a specialist or have a procedure done because of the cost. matched
So that's now an access to care barrier as well. matched
So we have these offerings that exist, but there is still a challenge first with cost, but then when that cost challenge is, I guess, eliminated with access. matched

Like if we think about seeing a GP and the cost of seeing a GP and then the cost of seeing a mental health professional, it is extremely, extremely costly to see a mental health professional. matched
And if you are seeing them with, you know, an acute issue, you are seeing them frequently, certainly, you know, on a weekly or monthly or bimonthly basis. matched
And so when we asked our audience whether or not they had put this off, 75%, so three quarters of our audience, said that they have delayed seeing a mental health professional because of cost. matched
So that's even higher than the 68% who said that they had delayed seeing a GP. matched
Should be said, just like when we talked about bulk billing, that there are government measures to make seeing a mental health professional more accessible or matched
under Medicare's Better Access Initiative, you get up to 10 subsidised psychology sessions a year. matched
But again, not to add a disclaimer to every single initiative. matched
Firstly, unless your psychologist doesn't have a gap fee on top of that, then you're still paying out of pocket. matched
