I imagine you've got greater social license for regulation in the UK than we do.
So we did what is a fairly light touch version.
No child who manages to get themselves on TikTok at age 13 is ever going to get a tap on the shoulder from any authority.
It's the platforms that are the ones who need to comply.
So when we started the parliamentary inquiry into this particular topic and we looked at what should be on it, the list was actually much shorter.
So it was Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, TikTok,
and X. And then they have subsequently added Kik, Reddit, Threads, Twitch, and YouTube.
Now, YouTube was the one that was like, oh, careful, because this is quite an educational tool.
But that's, you know, the eSafety Commissioner provided advice to say most of the really
shocking, violent, extremist content that young people are seeing is via YouTube, and that's why it was added.
But I think YouTube Kids is still out, so you can have an account on YouTube Kids.
It's a safe social media platform.
If you make all these platforms safe, there is no problem.
Meta, having said to us in our committee, it can't be done, it can't be done, it can't be done, launched Instagram Teams a couple of weeks before we finished the inquiry.
So supposedly can't be done, can be done, and is being done, right?
