And they just hung out in community, just knowing that there were other Filipino kids and

They would speak English.

They would play games.

Some of them would be, you know, American games like Monopoly.

Some of it could be, you know, other games that they, you know, traditional Filipino games that they brought that they brought from their culture.

And it was just that was my first experience of just seeing, you

how Filipino culture for first or second generation immigrants to this country really rolled into not necessarily falling by the wayside, but assimilating in a way that you could carry both with you.

Yes, definitely.

I fell in love with it.

I fell in love with the idea and it definitely piqued my curiosity.

And I remember wanting to go to it more and being more of a part of it.

But unfortunately, the transportation was an issue for me.

I'm north of Boston, not actually in Boston proper.

So as a child, you know, as a high school student who didn't have a car, you know, and two caretakers in the house who worked full time, you know, getting in and out of Boston wasn't

necessarily the easiest thing to do.

You know, something that we joke about in Boston is that Boston is, you know, an hour from Boston.

Like the the traffic is insane.
