Hi guys, welcome back to Two Worlds Collide podcast. On today's episode, we have Melissa Koopsch. I hope you guys enjoy. And just like that, we're back. Welcome Mel and Crystal to Two Worlds Collide podcast. First trip to Adelaide?
First trip to Adelaide.
Do you like it?
I love it.
Yeah, a little bit cold though.
Oh, but we love that. We don't get to like dress up in trenches very much at home, so we're milking it.
Yeah, that's the one thing I love about winter down here is being able to get into hoodies and jeans and rug up. And where we are in Adelaide, it's a bit colder than everywhere else, so it's really nice.
Yeah, love it.
Really, really nice. And I get my little daughter in hoodies as well, and she loves it. But a bit of a different subject today. Did you want to give my audience a bit of a brief of who you are and your history and what you're here to talk about?
yeah so i'm a homeopath and now homeopathy is a system of medicine that a lot of aussies are probably more recently starting to figure out is something they really want to know about it's something that the government doesn't necessarily easily put information out about but i started down this journey to become a homeopath when my sister was chronically sick so she was in and out of hospital And we were 16, 17. I'm one year older. And for six years, you know, in and out of hospital, no answers, huge file from like the leading doctors in these Brisbane hospitals. And I, at the time, was studying natural medicine. So, I was going to be a naturopath. So, like herbs, supplements. And... in that we had tried everything though, everything natural, everything medical that they had to offer.
And there were just no solutions. So she was being back hospitalized, you know, every other month. And I used to have this lecturer and I was studying at a college of natural medicine, a well-known one. And he used to say to me, you would love homeopathy. Like you'd be a great homeopath. And because I'd never heard of what it was, I just fobbed him off. I'm like, whatever that is. I'm not like going to waste a degree on that. Like I want sort of like proper, you know, medicine and healing. And then one day he said it to me and she was in hospital and I was like, right, that's it. If you can cure my sister's chronic condition, I'll change my degree over. And he's like, all right, you know, when can she meet with me?
So we just meet in this coffee shop. And for over an hour, he's asking her all about her physical, mental and emotional symptoms. So he wants to know everything about her life.
How did Melissa Kupsch discover homeopathy and what was her sisterβs breakthrough case?
You know, what sort of sicknesses did you get when you were younger, right? Were you the tonsillitis kid? Were you the ear infection kid, the croup, asthma, eczema, all of it? And I'm like, this is so weird because this is obviously not how medicine is practiced these days. If you go to the doctor, it's a pretty quick, you know, I don't know, 10 minute. Yeah. What's going on? What do you need a solution for? Right. Here's your script. Off you go. But none of that had worked for her. So then he's going through and then when he's asking about the mental and emotional aspects like of her life and like what sort of trauma she's been through. And, you know, he's like, tell me what's the hardest thing, you know, that you've ever experienced.
And she's telling him all this stuff. And I'm like, this is like crazy. And at the end of all of that, he gives her this little bottle of medicine. He's like, I want you to take two drops under the tongue every day and then come and see me in eight weeks and tell me what's happened. And I'm just thinking, what? Like two drops under the tongue. Did you not just listen to like how severe this pathology is, what's going on? Anyway, we like roll with it and she does it. And within a couple of days, full symptom changes, like things are shaking, shifting and emotionally, you know, things are moving around as well.
And I'm like, what the hell is this exactly?
So it's a frequency medicine. This is what homeopathy is. So you think like acupuncture, right?
