#131 - Ingrid Walters - On becoming one of the all-time Best African American Female Marathoners

In this episode I speak with Ingrid Walters who is an accomplished actor in the realms of TV, film, commercials, and stage. She is one of the All-Time Best African American Female Marathoners, after running 2:48:03 at the Los Angeles Marathon finishing 1st woman overall. As the daughter of a Captain in the Marine Corps and a high school principal, her drive and commitment was clear when she started swimming competitively at age 6. This took her to UCLA where she swam and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology. She made acting her full time career. Some of her roles on include acting on Amistad, Scandal, Grey's Anatomy, Castle, and Parenthood, to name a few! She's been a member of the Janes Elite Racing Team, an all-female elite team, since 2012. We discuss the impact this has on her. Additionally we talk about cancer and her return to running.
