斜光照墟落[1]，穷巷牛羊归。野老念牧童，倚杖候荆扉。雉雊[2]麦苗秀，蚕眠桑叶稀。田夫荷锄至，相见语依依。即此羡闲逸，怅然吟《式微》。〔注〕[1]墟落：村落。 [2]雉雊（gòu）：野鸡鸣叫。《诗·小雅·小弁》:“雉之朝雊，尚求其雌。”夕阳西下、夜幕将临之际，诗人面对一幅恬然自乐的田家晚归图，油然而生羡慕之情。诗的核心是一个“归”字。
