Growing up, Matt was an unlikely candidate to become a professional climber.  Mostly because the southern beaches of Florida were his home. However, early on he showed promising climbing ability and began competing all over the country and world. After moving out to Colorado he began doing things very few climbers were doing, garnering the attention of The North Face. He signed with them and did climbs and expeditions all over the world. Noticing the lack of quality coffee on the market for backcountry sports, Matt’s mind began working. When back home in Colorado he would experiment with instant coffee combinations until he was satisfied.
