Am I Oppressed Because I Have “Black Hair”?? - Unapologetic LIVE 06/21/22
21 Jun 2022
MSNBC recently hosted a roundtable where several black female hosts and celebrities discussed the culture surrounding black women and the discrimination they face in the workplace. Their complaints involved a lack of makeup supplies, unskilled hair stylists, and hair discrimination. They go on to discuss The Crown Act, a bill passed to end discrimination against black hair. Is this really a problem? Is this evidence of systemic racism? Is there work we need to do regarding this? I’ll explore all of these questions in today's episode.
