And I know what some of you are going to say, Amelie, you're making a big deal out of nothing. And maybe in the grand scheme of things, I am. But this is important to the story. And the story is what we're talking about. This story is also important to the millions of people who have consumed it and who are wanting to see it adapted in this new film. It was important to C.S. Lewis. So if you're going to be adapting his work, maybe you want to show a little bit of respect to what he created. It's pretty clear Aslan is meant to be a male. It's pretty fundamental to the story itself, but now he is going to be a she voiced by Meryl Streep. And this lion is also going to look like or be inspired by the look of Ziggy Stardust, David Bowie.
And while I love David Bowie, it shouldn't be lost on anyone that he was particularly androgynous. And I wonder if that's a choice being made here for a particular reason. And we see these little story changes where we change fundamental parts of a plot happen all the time in Hollywood. And I've made many a video about it.
