I'm Jake Brennan, and on the Disgraceland podcast, I explore the wild lives of rock stars and unbelievable true crime stories from music history. These are the stories you haven't heard, the kind you'll end up telling someone else. Like the time Paul McCartney spent in a notorious prison or the bizarre crime Lady Gaga is accused of. Or that time Blondie's Debbie Harry escaped Ted Bundy. Listen to Disgraceland on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Hey everyone, it's the Jonas Brothers. This week on the podcast, Hey Jonas, we're hanging out with Michael Bublé. After Kevin's recent interesting confession about Michael. We figured there's only one thing to do. We must invite Michael Bublé on the podcast and we want to know what's on his sexy time playlist.
You know, I did an interview and they're like, have you heard about this Jonas Brothers thing?
And they're like, what did you think of it? I was like, well, I mean, it's reciprocal. We talk about Kevin's confession, Michael's reaction, and a whole lot more. Our conversation with Michael Bublé is out now. Listen to Hey Jonas on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Hey there, folks. It is Tuesday, July 14th, and it was just a couple of weeks ago that Florida executed the oldest inmate in that state's history. Tonight, they're going to execute somebody even older. And with that, welcome to this episode of Amy and TJ, a 74-year-old on death row being executed. People have feelings about it, but, well, we know how Florida feels.
Yes, because this is the second 74-year-old in a matter of weeks that Florida is set to execute. This gentleman's name, and I hate to even say gentleman because when you hear what he's done, that probably wasn't the right term to use. 74-year-old Dennis Soker is set to die tonight at 6 p.m. Eastern time by lethal injection. And yes, he will officially be the oldest inmate ever to be executed in Florida because he will be exactly one week older than than Dusty Ray Spencer, who was executed last month at the age of 74.
What are the chances? Is that intentional? Do they go through and look for the oldest? Ah, let's clear the books here. It just seems like a bizarre coincidence that back-to-back, oldest in history.
And then add to that, later this month, in just a couple of weeks, they're going to beat their own record once again with an 80-year-old death row inmate scheduled to be executed. So, yes, three in a row, each one... setting a record for being the oldest inmate ever executed in the state of Florida.
And people are having that debate. What is cruel and unusual? Is it cruel and unusual because of the age, because of the health problems, because of the skin, the difficulty in finding a vein, because of all these things where people have the question, do you execute an elderly person? Is that automatically cruel and unusual? I don't know. But the argument on the other side is, yeah, he's still being punished for the crime he committed.
