Hey there, folks. It is Thursday, July 2nd, and a former Olympian has been hit with a felony charge and is facing up to a decade in prison. What did he do? He put his hand in Trump's pool. And with that, welcome to this episode of Amy and TJ. This has got not a hand. Bro, the citation is one. This has got not a hand.
It started out as a misdemeanor, and now it's a felony. And yes, Jeanine Pirro, the U.S. attorney for D.C., held a big press conference today, and the headlines are everywhere. A former three-time U.S. Olympian, yes, is being charged with a felony, as you mentioned, facing up to 10 years in prison. And they claim that Hearn forcefully and violently pulled up and removed the bottom liner of Trump's reflecting pool with his bare hands.
Go to prison. Ten years. Go to prison for ten years. This is too much. This is too far. Even if he did exactly what they say he did. Are they really? They're trying to make this guy the poster child for all the problems that have been wrong at the reflecting pool. See, we had to charge a guy with a felony. Obviously, we know what all this is, but I'm saying this has gone too far. This is gone. This is scary.
This is scary scapegoating is what it is. Now, of course, 67-year-old David Hearn, and I say of course because he has been speaking out. This happened on June 19th. He has been shouting from the rooftops, I didn't do anything. What are you talking about? But Janine Pirro, flanked with attorneys by her side in this presser, said that there are witnesses who describe David Hearn doing this. She claims he damaged at least two square feet of the sealant from the bottom of the reflecting cool. Two square feet. Two square feet. She said that caused more than $1,000 in damages. What? And yes, a grand jury has handed down these indictments. Obviously, if you, I'm sure you all have a pretty good idea of how grand juries operate, but basically there is no defense presented.
