Alabama Republican Gov. Ivey: ‘Start blaming the unvaccinated folks' for rise in Covid cases

24 Jul 2021

Description

Alabama Republican Gov. Kay Ivey called out “the unvaccinated folks” for the rise in Covid-19 cases in her state. Ivey told reporters “folks are supposed to have common sense. But it's time to start blaming the unvaccinated folks, not the regular folks. It's the unvaccinated folks that are letting us down.” Alabama is the least vaccinated state in the country with roughly only 33.9% of residents fully vaccinated. Former Surgeon General Dr. Jerome Adams joins AC360 to discuss the rise in cases and says if people want bars and restaurants to stay open and be able to go out into communities without your mask, “then you’ve got to do your part and get vaccinated.” Plus, former President Donald Trump is returning to Arizona where he’s expected to claim, yet again, the Arizona audit will be the first domino in showing fraud in a string of states that Biden narrowly won. Maggie Haberman is the Washington Correspondent for The New York Times and has covered Trump for years. She tells Anderson Cooper the former President’s advisers aren’t happy with his focus on these Arizona efforts and they think it's “counterproductive.”   Airdate: July 23, 2021   Guests: Dr. Jerome Adams Maggie Haberman To learn more about how CNN protects listener privacy, visit cnn.com/privacy Learn more about your ad choices.
