Welcome to the next installment of the Anesthesia Patient Safety podcast hosted by Alli Bechtel.  This podcast is an exciting journey towards improved anesthesia patient safety.Today on the show, we review perioperative considerations for patients with cardiovascular implantable electronic devices (CIEDs) include the following: pacemakers indicated for bradyarrhythmia treatment, implantable cardioverter defibrillators or ICDs for tachyarrhythmia management, and cardiac resynchronization therapy or CRT for patients with decreased systolic function combined with conduction delays.
