This podcast is an exciting journey towards improved anesthesia patient safety.Today on the show, we review perioperative considerations for patients with cardiovascular implantable electronic devices (CIEDs) include the following: pacemakers indicated for bradyarrhythmia treatment, implantable cardioverter defibrillators or ICDs for tachyarrhythmia management, and cardiac resynchronization therapy or CRT for patients with decreased systolic function combined with conduction delays.
