It’s been a week of personal bests, heart racing moments, cheers and high fives throughout every facet of angling in KZN. Fisherman from salt and freshwater took advantage of the favorable weather condition when the opportunity presented itself and they were rewarded with catches such as Garrick, Tuna, Brusher and Bream. ‘Kobtober’ continues to live up to its name but this week on all types of Salmon species delivering bent rods from the surf and offshore. The freshwater anglers had also been out in full force as they had netted Carp, Bass, Trout, Scalies and even Barbel on flyfishing. In this podcast, we talk about the windows open to get into KZN’s preferred strike zones to complete a perfect week of fishing and possibly hook into a record catch! Offshore: The offshore fishing has been treating everyone well this past week. Gamefish have been the main species caught, while some proper bottoms have rounded out the list. Rock and surf: The scratching has dominated this past week but a few early inedibles are starting to make an appearance along the coast. Freshwater: The bass are biting, and some giants have been landed. The carp and trout are playing second fiddle but are still keeping their anglers casting as personal bests are amongst them. Cover Angler: Alan Will with a personal best Rainbow Trout. Vinesh's website
