What did Neville Gallimore say about feeling he let the team down after the 9‑3 loss?
I'm a guy that I want to go out there and compete. I want to go make plays. I want to be there for the guy to the right and left of me. And I'm willing to do whatever it takes to win. Neville Gallimore. Our standard, you know, standard where which how you play, obviously we want to be, you know, um aggressive and just kind of make our presence felt. Seven-year NFL
veteran,
Rogers.
Pump and Rogers is sacked. Ten seconds on the clock. Loctu and Gallimore collaborate. Trying to escape from the pocket, keeping the play alive, and now he's taken down.
Great pressure from Neville Gallimore, defensive lineman for the Chicago Bears. He's a big, powerful guy. He's got a little bit more suddenness and quickness. I've been going against Nev since since a senior ball, and he's always been a very big body, very fast, strong.
Watson on the handoff for Marshall, and Neville Gallimore is there. This is a big veteran body up front, had a career year with the Indianapolis Colts last year.
Neville Gallimore with Raheemi and Grody on 104-3 the score.
Yes, Neville Gallimore is joining us on our video stream, as a matter of fact, to watch. Search the score Chicago on Twitch and on YouTube. Neville Gallimore, the Bears defensive tackle, joining Rahimi and Grody on 1043, the score. Neville, good morning. Thanks for coming back on with us, man. We appreciate it. What's happening?
Good morning, man. Great to see you guys. Thanks for having me again.
Absolutely. And uh if you don't mind, I would like to share with our audience a quick interaction you and I had in the locker room after the the Vikings nine three loss to the Bears, Leila. I went to the to the corner of the the locker room and there's Neville Gallimore hanging out with some other defensive linemen. I introduced myself to him and the first First thing out of his mouth was, Sorry, I let you all down. Um, is that the and I know how seriously from our last conversation that you take Bears fans and the whole Chicago thing. Is that the way it felt after the nine three loss to the Vikings, Nebel?
How does Gallimore break down the Bears’ defensive performance against the Vikings?
Um, absolutely, man. Um, you know, you know, when you when you look at the tape or look at the film and obviously You know, part about improving in this game, you gotta be a toughest critic, right? So For me when I watch it, there's definitely like a few, you know, a few plays I wish I could take back just from terms of what I I said I was you know, the expectation that I have for myself, that the coaches have for me that I didn't capitalize on so you know, obviously as a competitor, as a player. You know, you try to make sure in those moments that you do your job. at a high level and and there were some things that I could have done better. Um, but obviously, you know, i it's one game, it was unfortunate it was tough.
I thought defense played hard. I thought offense was was fighting the tails off, but it's something that we can learn from and and and build from and you know continue to push forward to to do what we gotta do.
I mean, for the record in Evel, I think a lot of people observing the game were happy with what they saw out of the defense. You didn't allow a single touchdown to a Vikings team that we saw have an excellent comeback against the Packers the week before. You know, what what disappointed you about what your play was? And you got close to the quarterback at times. We saw you guys messing with Carson Wentz, especially early.
Um, you know, like you know, like I said, the the the one opportunity what I have at open field, um to To make a play. You know. Par Parson had them sweet feet. Ah man, he missed. But um he
did have those sweet feet on that pla on that play, man. I was like, which which way is he gonna go here on our guy Neville?
You know, so and then uh an opportunity where there was a couple of big runs where I felt like I had a opportunity to be more effective and that I just wasn't the case there. But obviously, you know, the I always like to look at the the bright side of it's stuff that I can go back to work and go back to practice and make sure that I home in a and lock in on so that you know mistakes like that are aren't reoccurring.
