Some top riders in show jumping and dressage are winning on barefoot horses, and dressage is leading the way watching for blue tongs in a show ring using judges eyes. Having judge’s observation as a tracking “tool” is somewhat possible in dressage, but not quite feasible in other equestrian disciplines.
