Very interesting interview between Ezra Klein and the CEO of NVIDIA, Jensen Huang. So Jensen is a top ally of President Trump. He was recently called by Trump while he was on the stage at this all-in event. He put it on speakerphone, it was a whole thing. And he obviously is profiting off of this AI boom massively because everyone needs to buy the chips of NVIDIA. And he is a major, major cheerleader for off to the races, AI development, don't worry about it, everything is fine. Ezra is on the other side of that debate. He recently put out a very influential piece saying we need to stop, we need to ban any sort of what's called recursive self-improvement where the robots are basically building the new robots.
So this was a really interesting exchange and there was a moment Where Ezra actually gets Jensen to admit that if the labs are unable to control the testing of their models and keep them contained and make sure that they are not like, you know, going on criminal hacking sprees, for example, that we actually should shut the labs down. Let's take a listen to that.
They're not sure how to align them. Well, in that case, they shouldn't release the product. That's the simple answer. If you're going to build a car, a self-driving car, and let's say it's a robot taxi, and there's a really difficult condition,

it just, as an engineer, we just have no idea how to solve this problem because these cars are not programmed. They're trained. And so we have no idea how to train these cars and we have no idea how to align them to the safety standards that are expected on the road. And so what's the answer? Don't ship it. These products weren't released. What's that? These products weren't released. So now it's coming back to engineering problem again. And so the one is, one, you have to root cause it. Second, you have to, you know, think about what you could have done, what's the solution for it.
