Today I had the pleasure of interviewing one of the world’s most renowned horse trainers, Steinar Sigurbjörnsson, and (Camilla Jönsson) Known for his work with positive reinforcement, Steinar brings out the best in horses by encouraging them to enjoy their work and feel proud of themselves. Originally from Iceland, where generations of horsemen are part of his heritage, Steinar has built an impressive international career. He has lived and worked in Holland, Germany, and spent over 10 years in the USA, training some of the world’s top horses. His approach is all about play, trust, and partnership. Steinar believes that when a horse feels joy in training, it unlocks its true potential. His method creates horses that love to work, because they feel seen, understood, and celebrated. It was a truly inspiring conversation with someone who is not only skilled, but also deeply connected to the soul of the horse.
