Yeah, I'm extremely excited. Yeah, I took the summer off and kind of weighed my options. And it was kind of a no-brainer to come down here. Obviously, I've worked with Braden Birch for almost 12 years, and I guess Sonny for six years. And they're close friends and great guys and good human beings. And, you know, they offered me the opportunity to come join them here. And it's going to be great. I'm excited. Something new, something different, something exciting. So I'm jacked up to be down here.

Yeah, so I'm VP of Prospect Personnel, so I'm still overseeing all the player development stuff with the staff we have here. And then I'm also the assistant GM of the Unica Comets, which is something I've really wanted to do for many years. You know, I really did enjoy player development, but I did it for 15 years. It was time for something different, time for a change, and, you know, trying to put our own team together in utica and developing players and trying to win at the same time and uh it's something i couldn't turn down and then to get to work with two of my best friends who i love and trust um just it's it's just the perfect opportunity for me
Well, Sonny Mehta is a really interesting guy. I was reading an interview of his on NHL.com and he was kind of discussing his philosophy on building the team. But he was an assistant GM and now he's running the operation. You obviously know him very well and you've been working with him for a long time. Describe how he sees team building to us, Caber, if you can. How different is he going to look at this? Because he has a reputation of being such an outside-the-box thinker. Is that too much? Is that an accurate description? What do you see him acting like as a GM now?
Sonny is one of the most unique people I've ever met in my life. Kind of like a unicorn, jack of all trades, obviously music background, poker background, kind of done it all. I've witnessed it. Sick poker player. The guy can pick up any instrument. And play it, which is like crazy to me. And obviously, you know, data and all that stuff, I think it gets over overused for him. It's not the end all be all. I worked with him for six years. He understands the. seeing eye test has a place in this game too but he's you know he's got the philosophy that you know both can work simultaneously and uh you know uh the scouts do their scouting we also work the numbers and hopefully we're all on the same page and all adds up and we can all add a player that we all like and want and then help push this team forward in hopes of winning a stanley cup and uh like i said i've been very fortunate to work with him for for six years and learned a lot from him uh
He's got a great demeanor about him, very confident, very outgoing, very friendly, and he's a pleasure to be around every day.
