Social activism is central in the fight for justice, human rights and equality. In this episode of Appearance Matters: the Podcast! we talk about the importance of social activism in relation to our appearance. We hear from body image activist Sharon Haywood about how she and a group of activists from around the world successfully took on Facebook to remove the ‘feeling fat emoji’. We also hear from fat activist Dr Sigrun Danielsdottir about how Iceland is fighting back against fat stigma and unhelpful public health rhetoric around the obesity epidemic.
