A conversation with Marie Darrieussecq
18 Oct 2022
What does an everyday hero look like? In Marie Darrieussecq's French novel La mer à l'envers, a cruise ship rescues boat refugees out on the cold December sea. Psychoanalyst Rose, who received the cruise as a Christmas present from her children, helps one of the migrants, Younès from Niger, when she gives him a mobile phone. The phone becomes a kind of lifeline between the two. Marie Darrieussecq is one of the leading voices in contemporary French literature. She writes for magazines such as Libération, Charlie Hebdo and Dagens Nyheter. In this episode she has a conversation with psychoanalyst Per Magnus Johansson at Gothenburg Book Fair, September 24, 2022. #Marie Darrieussecq #permagnusjohansson #La mer à l’envers #psykoanalys
