145. Creative Cartooning with Ryan McCulloch

This week’s episode features California based illustrator and cartoonist Ryan McCulloch. Ryan is the VP of art and design at Mutasia which is a series of award-winning books, music, animation and stuffed animals about an island where everyone is a mix of 2 or more different animals. Example: Pugapillar. How fun is that?! Ryan is so fun, creative and willing to share all of his knowledge about cartoon making and what it’s like working with a team. Imagine having a handful of different creative minds working on one project. Sure there’s there’s bound to be some creative friction with different ideas but imagine the amazing results you can get by combining those minds together! That’s what Ryan does for living. He also goes into depth about creating cartoons with the plot lines, facial features, body languages and everything you say with art that doesn’t even need to be said with words. This is a very different type of conversation than our typical business-style but I hope you find it as interesting as I did.
