So don't act on the information until you've spoken to your financial planner. You'll find our full disclosure, disclaimer, and link to our financial services guide in the show notes. Alrighty, it looks like we are live here on the airways. If you're interested in learning what the heck productivity is, this interjection Generational report I'm holding up in front of me. If you want to talk housing You wanna think about how do I get in front of all this? Maybe you're going to Gift something to your kids in order to make sure their or your intergenerational equity is preserved. We're going to cover all that and more in this episode of the podcast. This is a very special podcast for two reasons. Number one, it's on the Australian Finance Podcast and the Australian Property Podcast.
Owen Rask 1:36
We are cross-posting this week because it is a public holiday in Victoria for a sport that shall remain nameless, seeing that the Hawthorne Hawks were robbed. By the Brisbane Lions, which is Pete Wargen's team. Um, we shall not talk about that anymore. But the second reason that this is a very good podcast is I'm joined in studio in Melbourne by Millie Russell. Millie, how are you doing?
Millie Russell 1:57
I'm good, thanks. Thanks for having me.
Owen Rask 1:59
It's great to have you with me. We are talking, we've got questions set in advance. We've got this 40-year forecast report from the Australian government, who obviously can be trusted with everything to do with uh anything economically at the moment. Uh, we've got some news out about um inflation. You want to talk about gas and petrol prices. And also we've we're gonna be in Sydney for an event coming up, so you can learn more about that. If this is your first time. On a live version of the podcast. If you're listening on a Sunday or a Saturday, you can head to the RAS YouTube channel and subscribe and you'll get notified when we do these live. But when we do them live, we also give away some stuff. And what we give away is we give away books.
Owen Rask 2:39
For example, you can get a copy of Gemma Mitchell's The Money Reset if you send in your question in advance or you get a question on the show. Or a who am I will be done at the end of today's show. And this is particularly for the live listeners, but also you can listen back and you can see if you can guess the who am I at the end of today's show. And if you're the The first person that gets it, you get a copy of Scott Phillips' book. The one page investing plan. Uh Scott was recently on our Australian Finance podcast. Uh and you will get this copy unsigned, but maybe that's worth more because it appeared on the show. So thanks to Josh. Thanks to uh I am not an elephant in the chat already. It's great to see you.
Owen Rask 3:17
But Millie. Where we start these shows is we start with what have you been reading? Has anything come across your desk? You're an associate here at RASC Soon to Be Financial Planner. What's been making news in your life?
Millie Russell 3:31
What's been making news in my life? Um, I just pulled it back to inflation because I went to fill up my car and ouch, it hurt. So a normal eighty five dollar tank cost me a hundred and five over the weekend. So I'm like, oh That's news to me. Um, so gas is back up, inflation's back up, there's conflicts in the Middle East, tensions are still rising and there's a lot of pressure going on in the economy at the moment.
