The Boyne Tannum Hookup is Australia's largest family fishing event, and in 2019 there are prizes to valued at $320K up for grabs. Not necessarily for the most successful fishermen, either. Your average punter could win a boat, a jet ski or cash prizes just by participating! Participants can compete individually, in teams or both. Categories include boat, human powered watercraft, jetski, fly fishing, junior competitors, catch and release. Fisheries include impoundment, river/estuary, bay, inshore and offshore, plus there are also bonus tagged fish worth $5-10K. With so much on offer, Doc decided to have a chat with Jen McGuire, president of the Boyne Tannum Hookup and local fishing personality Nathan Reardon to figure out the best strategies for winning prizes.
