For northern Australian anglers, or for those visiting the north, the presence of crocodiles in our waterways is an everyday thing. And while the number of fatalities associated with crocodile attacks is relatively low, fishermen are probably at greater risk than the general population. In this episode I deviated from our usual format to take the opportunity to talk with croc expert Dr Matt Brien from Queensland's Department of Environment and Science (DES). A former crocodile researcher from Charles Darwin University, Matt is now the Coordinator for the Northern Wildlife Operations group within DES. During our conversation Matt clears up a few common myths and misconceptions, then goes about giving some practical advice on how fishermen can coexist with crocodiles.
