At certain times of year the Derwent Estuary receives waves of migrating baitfish pushing up from the salt into the freshwater. At these times brown trout often move from the more usual freshwater habitat to the estuary to feast on easy forage. Hobart fishing personality Plinio Taurian has been fishing for trout in the Derwent Estuary for 10 years and has learned a thing or two about catching what can often be a challenging and frustrating target. In this episode Plinio shares his secrets for catching sea run brown trout, from his preferred bite windows to the favourite lures and tackle he packs for a sea trout mission.
