Um and and this was, you know, something aimed at the free press. Um, whether he misspoke or not, that's what he said. I think what you're seeing here is that he's getting some advice from the Justice Department that he has to somehow tie this to national security. Um but but the issue is it's not for Trump to decide what is fake news and what is the free press. The free press means that they can report news that the the president doesn't like. That is what the free press is and that they can report news that uh you know that makes the president look bad. Um that is what it means to have a free press.
Um and you know under a a you know more liberal uh administration They haven't liked like Fox News, right? Yeah. They haven't liked conservative press. But you can't discriminate because you don't like the coverage of a news network.
Trump told Fox News yesterday he is in a quote deciding mode, describing his current choices as wiping Iran out, letting them rot economically, or making a deal. The President added, quote, My question is if and when do I blow the entire nation up, they better behave. Iran warns it will retaliate without limitations if the US attacks. Again, Ed I mean we're back in that familiar cycle, right? I'm either gonna blow them up and force them to capitulate or they are on the verge of negotiations and they are begging for some kind of a deal. I feel like there's a kind of s a circle and at some point we join the circle depending on where the president is in that argument. But the Iranians understand he really doesn't want to blow them up.

So I imagine when Trump is getting these calls from um Mohammed bin Salman, the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, asking the US to intervene, he's got uh the Saudis begging for that help on the one hand, but on the other he's got the Pentagon saying to him, Look, munitions are low and
