So that's already happened, unfortunately, not only because uh of what Donald Trump did in becoming the first incumbent president in American history to challenge and to uh refuse to accept the results of a legitimate election in which he lost. Uh he and millions of his followers already went along with the biggest blow to the integrity of our election system you could possibly imagine. And by the way, Katie, he they have made election denialism uh in effect uh a a um a litmus test for employment in the upper levels of the Trump administration. So the entire administration has gone along with the biggest undermining of confidence in our elections that you know either of us could conceive of.
Number one. Number two, I think the conventional view here in Washington has been, well, if Democrats win by big enough margins, uh if it's you know just the actual blue wave that you're talking about, it will be too hard for Republicans To challenge it. But I would I would, you know, put a question mark there because I think what we've seen with Trump is that even it not being a close call didn't stop him in the past. Remember, the 2020 election was not one of the closest presidential elections of our lifetime, not even anything like it. Uh it was in night uh in 2000. That was a close election. 500 votes in one state, Florida, decided the election. This wasn't a close election. So I think that you have to remain concerned, even if it is a pretty unequivocal result on election night, that Republicans may decide to proceed with some of Trump's plans to challenge uh elections or to refuse to seat individual victors in different states.
I am worried about everyone else. I'm worried about the fact, and I you I want the two legal experts to talk about the core challenges afterwards. I'm worried about election day. As you mentioned, Cash Patel has established election integrity units in every FBI in every state, I believe.
