Saturday, twenty sixth September, year of our Lord twenty twenty six, the President of the United States has left Andrews Air Force Base. He is in route. To Knoxville, Tennessee, Real America's Voice is providing all the pool coverage all day long with the president. I said it to the uh game, uh, Texas Longhorns versus the University of Tennessee volunteers. Rumor has they may try to make the game day, ESPN's famous game day broadcast uh and with his picks. Uh, before we don't know. He left a little late so we don't know if he make that, but he'll be at the game and we'll be covering it live throughout the day. Uh, Neil McCabe will be at the White House and uh Taylor Mitchell is our correspondent on Air Force Run right now.

Uh wanna um invite uh Rob Bradley from Weather Nation here. Rob, thank you so much for taking time out from your broadcast. I just want the audience, because this is bigger than than a hurricane, it's a huge northeaster nor'easter that has hit the uh the east coast of the United States. Can you give us an update on on what what is happening? What is it? And and how it's going to develop over the weekend?
Sure thing. Yeah, this is a big storm system. It's a bit odd because we don't typically see nor'easters in September, right? We think of them as a winter storm. With bringing in lots of snow to parts of the northeast. But we've had a system develop in a similar fashion here in September, which means we have similar impacts. Big time coastal flooding, high tide flooding, which is what you're seeing here in shipbottom, New Jersey, as the water is pushed on shore about two to three feet above the normal high tide. So that's inundated a couple of communities around the coast, from New Jersey to Maryland up to uh Even parts of New York, down to North Carolina, we have this massive low pressure system that's sitting off the coast.
And this thing is going through a deepening process that's been happening very quickly. When you have a strengthening storm system like this off the coast, the winds are often a huge issue. And we've had this low here for a couple of days, but it started intensifying very quickly late yesterday into today, ramping up those wind impacts and starting to push more of that water on shore. So out in places like New Jersey, I mean, they've had their coast battered for a couple of days now with these winds and the waves and higher than normal tides. So we're seeing a lot of beach erosion. We're seeing those communities near the coast, unfortunately, see the high tide flooding as well. Even out into North Carolina, Highway 12 out of North Carolina, they get hit hard most of the time when we see hurricanes passing by.
The United States, not necessarily making landfall. And that roadway, unfortunately, took serious damage from. The wind and the waves that were pushing sand and water on shore. And we always keep a close eye on the homes out in Rodanthi as well in the outer banks of North Carolina because we've been seeing these homes collapsing from multiple big surge and wind events like this over the last couple of years. We had hurricane force wind gusts in Surf City, New Jersey. So yeah, it's not a hurricane, but it's producing hurricane-like winds.
