Chapter 1: Who are the key figures involved in Pete Crow-Armstrong's extension with the Cubs?
First of all, I want to recognize a few people here. First of all, I just want to recognize Matt and Ashley. One of the things that we talk about a lot with Pete is just, besides being a great player, he's so unbelievably gracious, especially with the kids, and so incredibly friendly all the time. I know his brand is largely built around being an exciting player and talent.
But I think locally, I think people recognize what a great person he is and how much he cares for children. And so you guys did a fantastic job raising him. And it's a pleasure to have him in this uniform. So thank you.
Chapter 2: What qualities make Pete Crow-Armstrong a valuable player for the Cubs?
well i recognize uh ryan hamill and uh holly linton um carter and and we talked a lot uh for a long time i think this is a process that started about 14 months ago involved you know uh probably an amount of conversations that has a comment in it. So it was a fun process. Couldn't be happier with the result we got, but you guys did a terrific job on behalf of Pete, and I appreciate it very much.
I know Matt was a Cubs fan growing up, and it's fantastic that we could sort of bring this all full circle. The deadline in 21 was a whirlwind. And the fact that we ended up with this guy was the result of a lot of hard work by a lot of people. But one in particular, I just want to shout out Jared Banner. Jared had come over from the Mets.
And if anyone was pounding the table to get Pete, it was Jared, because he knew the kind of person he was and the kind of talent he had. So great job by Jared. And I want to thank Tom and Crane for the support. I think they know every day what this guy means to our brand, to our team. And the idea of having him in this uniform for a long time is something that they were incredibly supportive of.
And then lastly, This guy, I just wanted to just thank him for being himself. I tell him that all the time. I say, be you. It's a gift to watch him play center field, run the bases. He continues to strive every day to get better. And so when I think about making an investment in a person, it's a really easy investment to make.
And I couldn't be happier to keep Pete in this uniform for a long time. So with that, I will hand it over.
Thanks. I just want to start off by thanking my mom and my dad. I'm glad I can, you know, kind of continue to show how grateful I am for the hours that you guys have logged. Yeah, I would not be here without y'all. You know that. I think it's time to get you to Chicago for good.
We've been teasing the move for a while now, so I'm proud to have both of your names on my back when I go out there, so thank you. And then Mr. Ricketts, I don't see him, but Mr. Ricketts and, oh, you're in the back, sorry. And your whole family for trusting me enough to keep me around and I'm just very proud to represent you, your organization.

Chapter 3: How did the Cubs organization support the extension process for Pete Crow-Armstrong?
I've loved every day that I've been here since 21. So thank you for trusting me. God. Yeah. Jed.
you've made this such a such an easy space for me to be myself and i'm i every day i'm grateful for the encouragement to do that um yeah i think you've gotten the best out of me up to this point and we got six more years of that so um and then jb we go way back um and i don't know if i'd be in a cubs uniform if it wasn't for you um
So I appreciate the tough love the very first day that I showed up late to Mets camp. But I think that's where our relationship started. And I gained a lot of respect and admiration for you that day, just because you didn't care that I was a first-round pick and this guy that's walking in with his hair all bleached and an earring in and With the tough love you still encouraged me to be myself.
So I guess we're seeing a common theme here, but that's what I felt from this organization and I I appreciate how you guys run this ship. So Carter, thanks for working with me and Ham and Ollie. And then Counts, excited to be with you for another six. And I appreciate the way you lead all of us. So Miles, DK, Veej, thank you guys for always having my back as well.
Bushy nice to see your face dog love you so it'd be nice if my high school coach Garrett Halpert could be here but he's got big fish to fry himself but he's another person that has gotten me here so I don't really know how to end this I'm gonna just keep rambling if someone doesn't stop me we'll take questions now yeah question we'll go here to Megan
Pete, maybe just to start, what made the timing right for you on your end to sign an extension like this?
I don't think there was ever gonna be a time that wasn't right to get this done. I think the entire process, I've been really appreciative of Jed and Carter. recognizing that the, the amount of focus I wanted to put into just being on the field. Um, and there was never any pressure to get this done. So like bottom line, they knew I wanted to be here.
Um, so with that, I think there was, whenever this got done, it was going to be the right time. Um, and I'm just grateful I got done when it did.
Pete, congratulations first of all, for you and your family. I wonder how difficult it is to one side talk about making this huge amount of money, which is not about you, the humble person that you are, and the other side being here for another seven years, including this year.

Chapter 4: What does Pete Crow-Armstrong express about his gratitude towards his family?
Pete, your opening statement led off with your parents and all these other people in the room who impacted you here. I know you're used to, like, performing in front of huge crowds, but what is this moment like sitting here right now and seeing all these different aspects of your life and kind of the motions of that hitting you right here right now?
My hands are a little sweaty, so... This is more nerve-wracking than going out and standing in the center field for sure. But the front rows, for the most part, have been with me for the last 10 years almost. It's a huge chunk of my life at this point. And then, like, new faces that I've been able to share a lot of cool stuff with over the last three, four years.
Like I said, DK was here when I first got here. JB and I were together in 2020. That's a hard question. It's a hard question, but yeah, it's a good question because I don't quite know how to thank everybody yet, but that is what I will be figuring out as we go here.
