Let's talk about Trump pulling back from Minneapolis… maybe....

Chapter 1: What is the main topic discussed in this episode?
Well, howdy there, Internet people. It's Belle again. So today, we're going to talk about Trump pulling back from Minneapolis. Maybe. I know a lot of people are claiming that Trump is surrendering and giving up on his operation in Minneapolis.
Chapter 2: What prompted Trump to pull back from Minneapolis?
I don't think it's necessarily time to plan that celebration just yet. What drove this news is the announcement that Border Patrol Chief Greg Bovino and at least some of the federal agents in the city are pulling out. There's rumors that he was relieved, but DHS denies this.
It's worth remembering that Trump, being the megamind that he is, is trying to simply transfer or promote people to irrelevance instead of firing them during this term. He thinks firing people encouraged media attacks and undermined his last term. There's also a lot of public rumor mill stuff saying that Trump has lost faith in Noem's ability to run the show.
All of this could mean that Trump is giving up on his plan that's constantly surging forces to cities, or at least giving up on Minneapolis. What helped push the news along was this Trump social media post. Quote, Governor Tim Walz called me with the request to work together with respect to Minnesota. It was a very good call, and we actually seemed to be on a similar wavelength.
I told Governor Walz that I would have Tom Holman call him, and that what we are looking for are any and all criminals that they have in their possession. The governor very respectfully understood that, and I will be speaking with him in the near future.
He was happy that Tom Homan was going to Minnesota, and so am I. We have had such tremendous success in Washington, D.C., Memphis, Tennessee, in New Orleans, Louisiana, and virtually every other place that we have touched, and even in Minnesota. Crime is way down, but both Governor Walz and I want to make it better.

Chapter 3: How is Trump's management style affecting his operations?
President Donald J. Trump So while some might want to say Minneapolis is going to get out from under Trump's thumb, I wouldn't say freed, more like under new management. Granted, it's a good sign that the White House is trying to distance Trump from the situation. And when asked about all of the false statements circulated by members of the administration, Trump's spokesperson said, quote,
I have not heard the president characterize Mr. Pretty in that way. It's clear the White House is in damage control mode, and it probably has a lot to do with getting pushback from everywhere except the most obedient of Republicans. Representatives, senators, commentators, and large political machines have called out the killing, and by extension, Trump's policies.
from Senator Cruz to Representative McCaul to the NRA to MTG. The calls for hearings, investigations, and turning down the temperature are growing louder. So far, we haven't seen a solid sign that Trump is actually going to pivot to a kinder, gentler deportation hand. It mostly just looks like he plans on toning things down until the backlash dies down.
Now, the pressure could continue to mount from Republicans, who understand that nothing Trump has promised has materialized for the swing voter, and that many of the things they wanted him to fix are actually worse. That makes it really hard to ride Trump's coattails.
And then those Republicans look back over the last year and begin to realize they burned their entire legislative session on the one big beautiful bill, which isn't popular.
So, while it's possible that we're seeing the beginning of de-escalation, I wouldn't count on it yet. There might be more to come. Anyway, it's just a thought. Y'all have a good day.
