Chapter 1: What is the purpose of this episode?
Well, howdy there, Internet people. It's Belle again. And welcome to The Roads with Belle. With all the news this week, I thought we'd go down the roads to a little palate cleanser during this episode. Just something to reset from all of the troubling news. We're going to go down three different roads today. Two are just feel-good updates.
And the third is questions from y'all that wouldn't normally get answered. Let me start by saying, if you're listening to this one, you want to go ahead and look at the screen. There's visuals. Some of you asked for animal images. Well, let's start with this little guy. He's the newest addition here. This is Zartan.
For those who don't know, the long-running tradition here is to name the dogs after villains from G.I. Joe. Zartan is Zanya's brother. G.I. Joe fans, I'm not getting that wrong. I know Zartan was Zanya's dad, but this Zartan is actually our Zanya's little brother. They have the same parents. German Shepherds are dogs that very much tend to pick a primary person.
Well, he's decided I'm his human, so he'll be in here with me. So if you occasionally think you hear a dog chewing or being a puppy and sliding across the floor, your ears aren't playing tricks on you. Next up, we have another bit of good news. Under normal circumstances, we'd put these on the shelves behind me for a few days, so everybody gets to see the good they do.
But this is kind of an immediate need. If you contributed to the shelter fundraiser this year, everything was a hit. The gift packages went out and made it on time for Christmas. With the extra money, we answered a request from the shelter for cold weather gear. We have coats, hats, gloves, cold weather suits for little guys, and so on.
We've got them in various requested sizes and built up a little cushion in various sizes, so hopefully it won't be an immediate need in the future and just something we can refill. We're also going to end up cutting them a check with the excess because there's still some left over. On to the questions. I'm going to start with the snarky ones first. First question.
So how are you liking our capabilities now that HEGSETH got rid of low standards and started weeding them out at basic? A nighttime raid in a foreign country against immeasurable odds and nobody hurt. I guess standards matter. First, there were seven wounded, some by gunfire, some by shrapnel. Second, the type of operation you're describing is just Tuesday for Delta.
Third, you sweet summer child, you think somebody enlisted, made it through basic, airborne, SFAS, the operator training course, and so on in 11 months? That's adorable. P.S.

Chapter 2: What updates are shared about the new puppy, Zartan?
You might want to read the IG report saying the Army and the Navy have been letting in too many troops that didn't meet minimum requirements. Okay. You read the Constitution a lot on the channel. I noticed you never read the part that says we'll be a Republican country. I'm sure that doesn't have anything to do with you being a liberal Democrat. This is a joke, right?
Do you think the Houston Texans only allow Texans to play on their team? Is it a bunch of birds on the football field in Baltimore? First, the founders were liberals. Second, the guarantee clause, Article IV, Section IV, isn't really something that comes up in the news. And it obviously doesn't mean what you think it means.
The phrase Republican form of government doesn't mean Republican Party, which didn't exist at the time. It means a government without a king and that functions as a representative democracy. Read The Federalist number 57 if you'd like to know more.
Next.
I've watched enough of you to know that you went to college on the GI Bill. You enlisted, then went to college, then went back. Respect. So here's my question. Why do you care so much about student debt? Let them do it the way you did. I became a nurse after college. What percentage of the people I treated do you think signed up for college and a charger?
For the kid born on the dirt road or in the ghetto, the military offers a chance at social mobility. For some, it's the only chance. I think maybe there should be other options. Moving on. Not necessarily. It's thought that has to shift and we need people to understand cooperative is better than competitive. That won't necessarily occur simply because of a decline in power or hard times.
Why do you talk so slow? I listen to you at 1.5. I think 1.25 is ideal speed personally. A lot of people aren't in the US. My accent isn't exactly the kind people overseas hear in movies. Then I know we have some viewers who read lips. Speaking slowly and enunciating makes it more accessible to more people. It's conscious too. I talk fast off camera. Next.
Other than your chosen animals, what other animals do you have on your property, like wild animals? Oh, there's deer, snake, frogs, raccoons, possums, armadillos, rabbits, tons of birds. We have a murder of crows. Then we have hawks. There also are some coyotes that live in the area. I have never seen them, but I've heard them, and sometimes it definitely seems like they're in our woods. Next.
Will prices go down if the Supreme Court trashes his tariffs? The odds are that SCOTUS is going to end them this month.

Chapter 3: How did the fundraiser impact the local animal shelter?
They might, but no. Prices aren't likely to go down. You've already shown the companies you'll pay that much for it. Generally speaking, prices only go down when something bad happens economically or two companies try to drop prices to gain more market share. Once companies know the market will bear that price, it rarely goes down.
Any politician who promises to lower prices should be looked at with skepticism. Once the prices are up, the way forward is to go all in on employment and therefore get wages up. Another one. I've sent messages before and I've never had one read, but you've answered my questions in videos that don't mention messages. How does that work?
If a question comes in a lot from different people, it's a signal that it needs to be talked about and gets its own video. And they're normally very heavy on data and facts to provide context. That doesn't always require reading a prompt on camera to set up the conversation. Another question. How are you doing with the workflow? I don't want you to burn out.
We've got the workflow very well divided and set. I think I'm doing all right. Zartan is now part of the team and gives me healthy breaks. I need a little pick me up. Oh look, a puppy. Let's go get some fresh air. Next. What's a piece of recent news that gave you hope? the polling about Venezuela.
Seeing that that operation didn't have majority support and that an overwhelming majority of Americans want Venezuelans to control their own destiny was something I needed to see. So that looks like it. A little more information, a little more context, and having the right information will make all the difference. Y'all have a good day.
