Chapter 2: What are the significant trends driving ASC market growth?
I'm currently joined by Nyleen Flores, who is the owner of MedElevate Solutions. Nyleen, thanks for being here. Let's kick off by having you share a little bit more about yourself and your work in the ASC space.
Yeah. So like you said, I'm Nyleen, owner of MedElevate Solutions. It is a consulting firm where we go into different health care facilities and we streamline processes and basically help you streamline all your workflows and then pass it on to you to keep on working efficiently.
Currently, I'm working with several ASCs across the United States to help them implement processes for credentialing, billing and peer review.
Wonderful. Well, thanks for taking the time to be here. And let's start our conversation with the ASC market. In the U.S., it's projected to reach $60.8 billion by the year 2030 and continues to experience strong year-over-year growth. From your perspective, what are the most significant trends in market forces driving this expansion and how should ASC leaders be preparing today?
Well, there's a lot happening in the ASC space. I think that insurance companies are starting to push the ASC space, believe it or not. And the state where I am currently, we've even had some prior authorizations state, why are you not doing this in a surgery center? So it's interesting how once the payers get paid, onto this trend and begin to start moving cases forcibly to the surgery center.
In other words, maybe they're not even going to approve a case that could be done at a surgery center to be done at a hospital. I think that is going to help increase the expansion and help ASC leaders grow their business in any market.
And from AI and robotic surgeries to advanced EHR systems, technology remains both a make or break factor and also a critical driver of ASC operations at scale. So how do you see deeper tech integration shaping the way ASCs deliver care and manage their business over the next few years?
So that is very important. But I think that what we need to work on is trying to get an all-in-one solution. So how can EHR systems fill the gaps that having two, three, four, five different electronic systems can fill? So expanding services so that people have one login online.
one place that they can do all the things that we need to do at a surgery center, I think is going to lead that quote unquote tech integration throughout the ASC space.
