Underground River Subrin (Near Lake Donigarten)

8 hours. A secret underground river that flows over Menzoberranzan and into Lake Donigarten. River Surbrin was a river in the Silver Marches and Savage Frontier It flowed from the Endless Ice Sea and the Spine of the World, after which it was joined by the River Rauvin, and later the Goblintide River, the Laughingflow, and Horn Stream. The River Surbrin then fed into the River Dessarin.The River Surbrin flowed only a few miles to the east of Mithral Hall, north to south along the eastern edge of the Spine of the World. Then it flows into the underdark it flows above menzoberranzan leading down to the secret Temple beneath Lake Donigarten.There was a subterranean tributary of the Surbrin flowing into Lake Donigarten. The lake was said to be the source of much treasure but that it was inhabited by dangerous creatures who lurked under the water. Unbeknownst to all, underneath the lake was a long-abandoned and flooded temple to Ghaunadaur, which was constructed by House Masq'il'yr, one of the founding houses of Menzoberranzan. The house was destroyed and the secret of the temple was lost. However, a number of priests and priestesses of the house were transformed into ghauropers that lurked in the water, guarding the temple.The lake was dark and fetid, filled with unknown horrors and unimaginable treasures. It was home to eel and fish that provided a food source for the city. Although the fetid water of the lake was used for watering crops and feeding animals and slaves, most drow balked at drinking the water.
