How did the World Cup tour impact the podcast experience?
What did you do to set yourself back into life in Hamilton yesterday?
Fell asleep at 6.30 p.m. New Zealand time. Nice. Woke up at about 3.30 a.m. wide awake.
Yeah. Yeah. How about you? I went to Murray Rose Barber to get my hair cut as part of my reintegration process and Flat white. Yep. First good flat white in about three weeks and then did all my tour laundry.
Oh, yeah. As is my way. Sort of just quite. Because you had 20 pairs of undies that you didn't wash. So it's like opening up that suitcase.
Well, the laundry bag from week one, San Diego, was a lot. Yeah, I can imagine. It was an interesting technique. No, I didn't waste time or $105 Canadian dollars on doing my laundry.
Yeah, yeah, that's fair. That's fair. That was for other people as well. Anyway, we're getting into the weeds. We're getting into the weeds. Hey, the last time we recorded Ambassadors was in San Diego. That's right. And it was probably the most hectic day that we had on tour. So we had... We had some hectic days on tour. Your whites had played Iran. Iran. Iran. Iran. The night before.
Isn't it amazing how you were able to master Iran, but Bin is still... Yeah, it's a real mentor. Do you know what, though? What's up? A lot of people I have found say Bin. Yeah. Way more than I realised. Steven Adams says Bin.
So does Chris Chang. Yeah, nice. Oh, good company to keep. Yeah. Anyway, the last time we caught up with you here on Ambassadors, because it's hard to... Because we had this Between Two Girls show, for those that don't know, and we've been doing it for the last three weeks. And... it's hard to know who's heard what. But for the ambassador only listeners, the last time you would have heard us was when we were in San Diego. And that day, it was the morning, we got home at like 1am. And then we recorded our show, our Between Two Goals show at seven. We did a ambassadors episode after it. Then we had two All Whites interviews. And we did a full Between Two Beers podcast with Scott Goldman that we're releasing on Monday.
Next week, yeah. And then we had to pack down our studio. It was like the most hectic day ever. But All that to say, a lot has happened since then that we need to bring the listeners up to speed with.
Actually, a lot happened even before then. Because as Liquorland say, what's the occasion? Because we completely forgot to mention that we won the award for best podcast. Yeah, we did. At the New Zealand Podcast and Radio Awards.
Or is it Radio and Podcast Awards? Yeah, that was on the Thursday night before we left on the Tuesday. Yeah. Which was awesome. And I think we had a little moment of reflection maybe on our Monday meeting before we left.
Possibly.
It was all a blur. There's a lot going on, but this was a really cool thing to stop and sort of appreciate. Yeah.
For that one hour on the Monday and then carried on with the rest of what we were doing.
Yeah, so the New Zealand Radio and Podcast Awards is the biggest awards for all of the biggest radio stars, all of the podcasters in one room.
