I am fired up to be here, Kevin. Let's rock and roll.
Well, let's just start with a little bit about you and your background and what led you to what you do now, which to me is helping people succeed.
So my background starts in the gray state of Maine. Grew up there for the first 18 years of my life. Went to college on an Army scholarship and did the whole ROTC thing during those four years. Post-college, I was commissioned as an officer, actually the first round of commissioned officers post 9-11. So within a year, I'm a tank commander of 16 men in four tanks. in Fallujah, Iraq. So a pretty intense transition there. After eight years as an officer in the army, I tried a bunch of different careers. I went into law school, corporate finance, commercial real estate, very traditional. I went the traditional route. I thought that was maybe the path for me coming from my military background, but definitely was not the case.
I was a little bit too rebellious in my core to really make that work. So I decided at 32 years old, which was 12 years ago, that I was going to break out on my own, become an entrepreneur specifically and hopefully to become an entrepreneur on fire. So I adopted that name for my podcast and said, what's the best way to learn and to win in this world? And that's by learning from others who have been winning in this world. So I became a student of the people that were crushing it at that time. I interviewed them. I had them on my show and I was the best. best daily podcast in the world interviewing entrepreneurs the day that I launched. I was the worst daily podcast interviewing entrepreneurs in the world the day that I launched.
And I was the only. And that's one thing that you mentioned in our little pre-interview chat was you've kind of discovered a niche. That's one of my biggest... learnings and now teachings is discovering a niche that is underserved, that has been ignored, that has little competition or by the way, no competition. And that's what I did. I went into a completely blue ocean and I completely blew up as a result. And now, you know, 12 years later, over 4,400 episodes later, over 160 million listens later, I'm I've been running a multi-million dollar net profit business for 11 of those 12 years.
