There was a shortage of essential goods, medicine was not obtained, food was not obtained. 30% of the population is in extreme poverty. That number was quickly going to become 80%. The inflation that we all know that had never been seen in the Western Hemisphere, and a crime unleashed, almost 20,000 deaths that year for homicide higher than countries at war. This, of course, combined with the corrupt totalitarian government of Nicolás Maduro, caused a manifestation, a social implosion on the street, looking for a change, looking for a new government, and that manifestation was called the exit.
