Agatha Christie, the famous British writer of mystery novels and the creator of the dear detectives Hercule Poirot and Miss Marple. Her extensive works include Murder in the East Express, The Murder of Roger Croy and Ten Blacks. But the woman nicknamed the Queen of Mystery was loyal to her reputation for having a strange episode in her life. The afternoon of Friday, December 3, 1926, Agatha Christie left her home in Sunnydale, Berkshire, in the outskirts of southwestern London. She got into her car and disappeared. Her disappearance unleashed a persecution in which the police, public members, famous characters participated, and was even applauded by sensationalist press, which promoted the idea that the Queen of Mystery had given us a mystery in real life.
This strange series of events was worthy of its own works of fiction, however, unlike the mysteries solved by Hercule Poirot or Miss Marple, this was never fully explained or solved. For us to try to solve this mystery, we have to try to understand the life of Agatha Christie. She was born as Agatha Marie Theresa Miller in 1890 in Torquay, England. Her father was American and her mother was British. Unfortunately, her father died very young when she was 11 years old and the family finances became very problematic from then on.
Like many women in that position, her mother hoped that she would marry someone of the English high social class and thus be able to help the family financially. But instead, she falls in love with a man named Archibald Christie, better known as Archie, who was an aviator of the Royal Flying Corps belonging to the English low social class.
