Dr. Cherie literally has a PhD in this stuff - her dissertation was all about what causes burnout and how to prevent it in human services professionals. She has worked at various nonprofit organizations in DC, including domestic violence, transitional housing, drug treatment, incarcerated women's programs, and affordable housing. Currently, Dr. Cherie serves as the Executive Director of a domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking response organization in North Carolina, and also owns a consulting and coaching business focused on supporting Black and African diaspora human service professionals and social workers to prevent burnout and compassion fatigue. With a PhD in Human Services, Dr. Cherie is committed to championing the power of kindness and community in this important work. She is the host of The Passionate Stewardship Podcast and she also owns the subscription box company, The Passionate Stewardship Box, with homemade self-care products.
