I've had a tough time accepting myself for the past ten years, especially my body, size, shape, and weight. It's been only in the past couple of years that I started working on my body image, trying to accept myself just the way I am, with no "I'll be happy when I lose this amount of weight" or "I'll feel prettier when I look like that model on the internet." But even though I've come a long way, even though I've improved my eating habits and the relationship I have with food and exercise, from time to time, the thought of having the "ideal body" comes to my mind. It got me thinking: Why am I still holding onto that idea? Will I ever let go of it? And aren't so many other people struggling with self-acceptance, maybe feeling the same?
