Black Marriage Therapy

Can Marriage Skills be Taught?

20 Jan 2022

Description

Why is it that in our society 50% of marriages end in divorce? Is there something we’re missing? I think that the missing piece is marriage education, whether considering marriage or already married scientific research overwhelmingly demonstrates that marriage programs are effective. These studies make the case that marriages are not merely enabled to survive, but can also thrive when couples learn the skills to make their relationships work. In this episode, I discuss the importance of marriage education and its positive effect on my life. Studies Mentioned http://marripedia.org/effectiveness_of_marriage_education_programs https://www.apa.org/topics/divorce-child-custody https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/fastats/marriage-divorce.htm https://www.stress.org/holmes-rahe-stress-inventory Join us every Thursday for more topics on love and marriage.
