Um, the Jays gave him an early lead. He looked like Look like Washington National's Max.
Yeah, it's the best game he's thrown as a J. By far. Yeah, in my mind. Uh that's the that's probably the best fastball he's had as a J, too. Just location wise, g uh the consistent velocity on it, the extension on it.

That's the best cutter he's had as a J for me anyway. Uh he could throw the ch throw the change up to lefties when he wanted to. Uh the tunneling of the slider was a little longer. It broke later. That's why you were seeing those kind of swings you were seeing from Seattle. Yeah, absolutely. That's exactly what the doctor ordered. You know, he had said a little earlier that everybody needs to play better. I think he's talking to himself a lot, right?
I mean, he he takes it to heart when he goes out there and doesn't perform the Way he thinks he should be performing. And I think he stepped it up. I think there was a little urgency to, you know, we can do something here. We we haven't been playing the way we should be playing all year. Offensively, it looked, we'd look at least a little better if our rotation can sort of hold serve, allow the lineup more guys in the lineup to start doing a few more things. Maybe we can make a little bit of a decent run on this thing. You just for me anyway, the extent. Mention, maintaining the velocity on the fastball, and that late tunneling breaking slider for me was sort of the eliminator, and he's taking it to a new level.
So hopefully this is the max we see going forward, at least uh the rest of the season anyway.
Uh before we're joined by Dan, please, let's set the stage. Let's take a look at the uh at the standings if we could. The American League Wildcard standings, the Yankees, the Red Sox boy, the Yankees taking uh three or four from the Red Sox. The Yankees nine up, Red Sox five up. The Cleveland Guardians currently hold down the final spot. The Baltimore Orioles are a game out. The Orioles, by the way, claimed Lewis Roberts Jr. on waivers today. Uh He would have had to the Jays would have had uh The Jays would have had the option to claim him right before the Orioles. They clearly passed on it. Uh we can talk about that later. I'm don't have as much of a problem with it as some people seem to have, but whatever.
