Bleep Bulimia

Bleep Bulimia Episode 65 with Cynthia Klein Author of Ally Parenting

17 Jan 2022

Description

Send us a textWhen her daughter was growing up, Cynthia realized she was not ready for parenting and how to deal with it.  She was coaching at the time and decided to research this topic.  There was nothing that she truly answered the question she was looking for.   It was what inspired her to research it further and to write her book Ally Parenting.Cynthia explains that everything she is talking about in regards to communication blocks is applicable to all relationships, be it children, spouses, or friends. The important thing is how you respond to make them either open to you or move away from you.   So how do parents overcome the communication block?  First, you have to listen to what they are saying.   It's important to respond in a way they feel heard.  Cynthia provides an example that is "placating".  That is when you want them to feel better and take away their "something" is usually our first impulse.  The child interprets it differently. This is a communication block.   Cynthia provides a few more valuable examples worth listening to!In Cynthia's book, she has a chart with a list of ten potential communication blocks, and the underlying message that the other person can perceive it as.This episode is a must listen to for anyone. The book as well.  In this Podcast, I felt this to be invaluable for parents dealing with children with bulimia, as I have coached in the past, and midlife bulimics to learn themselves how to communicate with others. Here are some important links to how to reach Cynthia and her free gift:"Enjoy my gift of - 8 Dos and Don’ts of Parenting" -https://ally-parenting.com/[email protected]://www.bridges2understanding.comBook link: https://bit.ly/Ally-Parenting    https://linkedin.com/in/cynthiajklein/More about Cyntia:Family Happiness Expert and Parenting Coach Cynthia Klein’s passion is to create world peace by first creating peace within each family.
