Flights were stopped because of a circuit failure in part of an old telecommunications system in the Philadelphia Air Traffic Control Center. FAA Administrator Brian Bedford told reporters a fiber cable had been cut. The
cut is, I'm told, 600 feet, somewhere between New Brunswick, New Jersey and Newark, New Jersey. And is this newly laid fiber that was part of this whole rollout? Well, all the fibers knew. Right, so why is it broken so soon after? Construction. Somebody dug it up.
