The Nasdaq and SP are lower because of higher oil prices and a higher dollar, and we do check markets for you all day long here at Bloomberg. The SP five hundred is down three quarters of a percent, Nasdaq down nine tenths of a percent, and the Dow down seven tenths of a percent. The ten year Treasury yield at five and a quarter percent, the two-year yield at four point nine three percent, and the thirty-year treasury yield at five point five seven percent. The Philadelphia Semiconductor Index is about 2. We're also waiting on some key economic reports this week that are expected to add evidence that the economy is strengthening, which would help make the Fed's case that interest rates should be higher.

Iran says it is sticking to a proposal that President Trump has rejected, with Tehran wanting the US to lift a naval blockade and oil sanctions to reopen the Strait of Hormuz. US and Iranian negotiators had been exploring a deal to reopen the strait and lift the blockade, but Trump rejected that proposal. And negotiations appear to be at a stalemate. Crude oil right now more than two percent higher, WTI topping $94 a barrel, and Brent Crude now topping $107 a barrel. Saudi Arabia has started exporting oil using a key cross-country pipeline that had to be repaired after drone strikes earlier this month.
